命里有时终须有，命里无时莫强求

我从来没有经历过普通的大学生活

I never got to have a normal college experience per se

我在公立高中读到了十年级

I went to public high school until 10th Grade

然后在机场航站楼的地板上写着作业 完成了我的学业

and then finished my education

小时候，我一直以为我会读到大学

As a kid,I always thought I would go away to college

思考我会在新生宿舍墙上挂谁的海报

imaging the posters I would hang on the wall of my freshman dorm

我甚至把《Love Story》mv的结尾

拍成理想中大学生活的样子

I even set the ending of my music video for my song love story at my fantasy imaginary college

因为你们在大学就读期间碰上了全球疫情

because you went to college during a global pandemic

基本上都被封在宿舍

being essentially locked into your dorms

只能通过zoom上网课

and having to do classes over Zoom

通常在大学 大家都为绩点而焦虑

Everyone in college during normal times stresses about test scores

但除了学业检测外

but on top of that

你们还得通过一次又一次的核酸检测

you also had to pass like a thousand covid tests

我想 正常的大学经历

I imagine the idea of a normal college experience

同样也是你们向往的

was all you wanted too

这种境遇让你我都懂得了

but in this case,you and I both learned

你并不能得到所有你想要的东西

that you don't always get all the things in the bag that you selected from the menu in the delivery surface

这就是生活

That is life

命里有时终须有，命里无时莫强求

You get what you get

而我真心想对你们说

And as I would like to say to you wholeheartedly

你所做的一切努力都值得你为之骄傲

you should be very proud of what you're done with it

你们用自己的方式工作、奋斗、牺牲、学习、追求梦想

You're worked and struggled and sacrificed and studied and dreamed your way here today

你们最清楚自己在为什么努力

And so you know what you're doing
